Halloween Activites

Sounds like Rebecca and the kids had a lot of fun this Halloween. This year we had Hermione (Julia), two ninjas (Ethan and Christian), a knight (Elliott), and Cinderella (Agnes). On Friday morning they had a Halloween party with some of their cousins on Rebecca's side of the family. The kids were telling me that they turned the garage into a haunted house with spiderwebs and scary music and people hiding. Even though Julia helped make it all she said that she was even scared in it. Also at the party they did bobbing for apples and a doughnut eating contest.

Then maybe that night or Saturday morning they carved pumpkins. In years past I have always thought that carving pumpkins has been a fun, but stressful tradition. What has always happened in the past is the kids are excited about it for the first ten minutes, but then they get tired of getting all of the gunk out of the middle of the pumpkin and they haven't been old enough to use the knife to carve it on their own, so either Rebecca or I just end up trying to finish it up quickly while the other one entertains the kids. Sounds like this year was a lot more successful for them though, maybe because they had a better adult to kid ratio. Julia, Ethan, Christian, and Elliott all ended up carving their own pumpkins and I think they turned out great.

Then on Saturday night the plan was that they would go to the church for trunk-or-treating and then up and down Rebecca's parents street for trick-or-treating. I don't know how that went yet, but I will update with more pictures as I get them.
