June 17

This was our second week of church here in Tainan. We made it on time this time, so that was good. They still welcomed our family as part of the opening announcements, but this time they knew our name. All the classes went well and the children had an especially fun time in primary. Elders Quorum ended early, so I snuck down to watch them and they were playing a version of hot or cold where they sing the primary song lauder as the person gets closer to the hidden object. Ethan was the finder and they had hid it in Christian’s shoe. It was so funny to see because they were singing in Chinese and the leaders and other primary kids were trying to give hints, but it was in Chinese so Ethan had no idea what they were saying. They were all still laughing and having a great time.

At the end of church two girls gave Agnes and Julia presents and asked them to come to the gym to play. The members then gave us bags of lychee fruit, and more of the bamboo rice things. The Stake President saw that it was raining out and he knew that last time we had walk so he insisted on giving us a ride. This ward was so nice to us.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in our apartment listening to the rain and watching Random Acts online. Oh yeah, and we celebrated Father’s day. In Taiwan Father’s day is not until August 8th (8 is said ba, so since August is the 8th month that day is said ba ba; which sounds the same as dad in Chinese). We got to talk to Rebecca’s dad on skype, the kids gave me some cards, and we had some food treats that we had bought the night before.
