Anniversary

July 23rd was our third anniversary. Since we both have callings on Wednesday night (Rebecca with the young women and me with bishopric meetings) we decided to celebrate on Thursday. We went to Red Lobster (Stillwater’s fanciest restaurant) and we all (even Julia) really enjoyed the shrimp there. We finished off the night with some chocolate mousse and a movie.
We counted our newly purchased Sonicare toothbrushes and our Boston trip as our presents to each other. It was great being able to spend the day together and to think how our family has grown over the past three years.

Boston

We decided that we are going to make a trip to Boston in August for a research conference I need to attend. With airplane and hotel prices we weren’t sure if we were going to go or not, but we found a good deal (and this may be our last trip with Julia flying for free) and so we decided to do it. Our trip will be four days and four nights and with the two kids it should be an adventure.

Happy Birthday!!

On July 17th it was Rebecca’s 27th birthday. We celebrated by doing some “Krazy Dayz” shopping (all the stores in our town do sidewalk sales on) and by making up some of her favorite meals (overnight stuffed French toast for breakfast and Philly cheese steaks for dinner). We finished the night by watching one of our new Harry Potter movies.

There she is, the beautiful birthday girl (She bought that necklace and earrings at one of the Krazy Dayz sales)

Peaches

OSU is known for their peach orchard that they have just off campus. Since they sell them to the public for pretty cheap, Rebecca and the kids went to pick some with some of her friends from the ward. After spending one day picking the peaches, Rebecca spent another day with a friend canning them. Definitely a lot of hard work! We are already planning out tons of peach recipes and looking forward to the fruits of her labors.

Julia and Ethan

We have been having a fun time just hanging around the house with Julia and Ethan. With two kids as cute as them who wouldn’t have a wonderful time. Ethan has been growing bigger and I think he looks less and less like a little alien every day. Julia has been helping so much around the house and taking care of her little brother.

Doesn’t he look handsome!

Looks like they have the daily routine down

And Dancing!!!

First Haircut

It has been over a year and a half since Julia was born and we decided that now was a good time for her first haircut. We were a little worried about cutting it since she always gets tons of compliments on her hair. So we just did a little evening up and we think it turned out great.

Happy Independence Day!

We had a wonderful and restful Independence Day. To celebrate, we all wore red white and blue and displayed our flag at the front of our house. We really wanted to see the fireworks in town (they do a huge firework show over the lake every year), but with two little ones that needed to be in bed, we missed them this year. Also in celebration we grilled up hamburgers (I tried a new recipe with mushrooms in the middle of the hamburgers, yum!), corn on the cob, drank lemonade, and made a key lime pie. That seemed like a pretty all-American meal to us. Although uneventful, we really did have a wonderful day and we are truly grateful for all of the freedoms we enjoy living in this country.
